Solving the Jigsaw’s training team provides nationally accredited:

  1. Professional development training modules for professionals who work with children, including principals, teachers, school nurses, primary welfare officers, well being coordinators, family support and community health workers
  2. Facilitator training courses.

1. Professional development training modules

The modules provide a practical whole school, or cluster, approach to wellbeing, violence and bullying, and offer an excellent training opportunity for implementation of the National Safe Schools Framework.

The six modules are:

  • Whole-school approach to violence and bullying
  • Facilitating respect, valuing diversity, encouraging discussion
    and maintaining confidentiality
  • Awkward conversations with kids
  • Creating a caring and nurturing classroom and school
  • Conflict within the school community
  • Exploring feelings and emotions in the classroom.

2. Facilitator training courses

Jigsaw’s 15-day facilitator training course takes place over two years. It trains participants in the program's ways of working with children and young people, and leads to national accreditation as a Solving the Jigsaw facilitator.

The first year of the course includes study of the six professional development training modules (each module takes seven hours), for more information please refer to the above information on professional development training modules.

The second year includes:

  • six days of course work (60 hours)
  • school-based practical course work (60 hours)
  • assessment tasks (90 hours).
